'Chicago Tribune' Appoints New Publisher

 The Chicago Tribune has promoted Senior Vice President of Circulation/Operations Tony Hunter to publisher. He succeeds Robert Gremillion, senior vice president of Tribune Publishing, who took the publisher position on an interim basis. Gremillion filled in for Scott Smith, who left the company.

“It seems like Tony’s been associated with the Chicago Tribune since Joseph Medill was trying to convince Lincoln to run for president,” Randy Michaels, Tribune’s chief operating officer, said in a statement. “The important thing is that Tony has spent his life in the publishing business and we still think he’s the right guy for the job.
