BusinessWeek Publisher McGraw-Hill Cos. Cuts 375

The McGraw-Hill Cos., publisher of BusinessWeek, announced today that it lopped off another 375 positions in the fourth quarter of 2008 to contain costs in the down economic environment, for a total of about 1,045 positions cut in 2008.
 
The company said it took a pre-tax restructuring charge of $26.3 million in the fourth quarter, primarily for severance costs related to the 375 positions. That figure included 70 in the Information & Media unit, which encompasses BusinessWeek.
