Following his surprise exit from American Media Inc. last August, David Perel has landed at rival Bauer Publishing as editorial director of In Touch and Life & Style, effective immediately.
Perel joined AMI as a reporter for the National Enquirer in 1985, eventually rising to editor in chief. During his tenure, the Enquirer broke a number of major stories, including Rush Limbaugh’s addiction to prescription drugs and John Edwards’ extramarital affair and illegitimate child, for which the tabloid received a Pulitzer Prize nomination.
