AmEx Publishing Folds T&L Golf

With its ad pages down 31.4 percent to 98 this year, American Express Publishing Corp.’s Travel & Leisure Golf will close with the March/April issue, the company said.
 
“The decision was entirely based on the ad economy,” a company spokesperson said.
 
The 11-year-old bimonthly joins a growing list of magazines that have fallen by the wayside as ad revenue declines have worsened across the industry. T&L Golf had been in the process of shifting to a controlled-circulation model and had reduced its guaranteed rate base this year to 500,000 from 625,000 as part of that move.
