Some members of the Press Lions jury showed up to a Cannes press conference on Wednesday wearing "I like Lubie" T-shirts, in tribute to jury president David Lubars, chairman and chief creative officer of BBDO North America. Press juror Gerry Graf, chief creative officer of Saatchi & Saatchi, New York, told the puzzled international reporters: "I don't know if you know this, but in America, David's nickname is Lubie. We were also concerned that everybody hated him," Graf said sacrastically, "so we thought we should show some support.
