ATLANTA Zimmerman Partners said Friday it has purchased The Zimmerman Agency, an independent shop in Tallahassee, Fla.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the purchase was made in cash and includes total ownership of the shop. Curtis and Carrie Zimmerman, the married couple that opened The Zimmerman Agency in 1987, will remain and the shop will keep its name.

Jordan Zimmerman, founder and chairman of Zimmerman Partners, an Omnicom Group shop in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., said he was attracted to the hospitality and tourism accounts at The Zimmerman Agency.

"There's an area of opportunity in travel, tourism and hospitality," Zimmerman said. "That's a segment I want to grow with."

The Zimmerman Agency's clients include Holiday Inn Worldwide, Diners Club International, Visit Florida and InterContinental Hotels Group.

The acquisition also adds a public relations practice for Zimmerman Partners and provides a fourfold increase in the shop's interactive capabilities, Zimmerman said. No loss of jobs is expected, he said.

The Zimmerman Agency employs about 80 people and had annual billings last year of about $60 million.
