BOSTON Zimmerman Advertising has added David Nathanson as executive creative director, creating a new post at the retail-driven agency in order to bolster its team in light of recent expansion.
Nathanson had most recently been CCO at Eastwest Marketing Group following that shop's October 2005 acquisition of Bezos/Nathanson, where he had overseen creative development for five years. Nathanson's experience also includes stints at shops such as Ammirati Puris Lintas, Chiat/Day and DDB.
At Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Zimmerman, Nathanson joins Zev Auerbach, also an agency partner, as ecd. The company is a unit of Omnicom Group.
Nathanson will now share responsibility for all major agency accounts, especially recent additions. His branding acumen was sought as a counterpoint to Auerbach's more retail-driven style, the agency said.
"The combination of the two provides a more balanced approach to continue to improve the output of the work without any sacrifice to the outcome of the work Zimmerman has built its foundation upon," an agency representative said.
Recent additions for the shop include Crocs, PayPal, Seabourn and Six Flags, among others.
Nathanson said, "This is a group of abundantly talented people totally committed to working hard to help their clients achieve greatness."
Zimmerman employs about 1,000 full-time staffers and also has offices in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Dallas, among others.
The shop saw its revenue improve 13 percent to $250 million on a 22 percent billings increase to $1.85 billion in 2006, compared to the previous year.
