NEW YORK With TV ad spending on the wane and Internet expenditures on the rise, Publicis Groupe’s ZenithOptimedia has scaled back both its 2005 and 2006 global ad spending projections.

Worldwide ad expenditures this year will increase 4.7 percent to approximately $404 billion, compared to an earlier projected increase of 5.4 percent, per Zenith.

In 2006, spending will climb about 6 percent to $428.4 billion, down slightly from the previously projected rise of 6.5 percent, Zenith said.
