NEW YORK Young & Rubicam in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday won two out of three gold Pencils at The One Show Rx, which honors pharmaceutical advertising worldwide.
The Malaysian shop won for an ad called "Left Behind" for client Cerebos, an Asian food and health supplement company. The ad shows a toddler left in a shopping cart. Copy notes Cerebos "improves memory." The shop's second gold pencil was won for "Home Early" for Lim Dental Surgery. The ad shows a man trying to hide underneath a bed, but he's easily visible due to his gleaming white smile.
Junction 11 Advertising in Weybridge, England, picked up the third gold Pencil, for a campaign created for pharmaceutical company Janssen-Cilag in the U.K. Junction 11 received the most awards, including two silver Pencils, one for its Janssen-Cilag work and one for a GlaxoSmithKline campaign.
Giant Creative Strategy in San Francisco was the sole Pencil winner from the U.S. The agency won a silver Pencil for a poster and postcard campaign for Genetech, a biotechnology research company.
Awards were presented at a ceremony in New York on Thursday.
