BBDO Canada's executive vice president and chief creative officer, Stephen James Creet, is moving to a similar post at Young & Rubicam, San Francisco.
Creet, who joins Y&R July 1, fills the void left by former creative director Peter Angelos, who left the agency earlier this year to become executive creative director at TBWA Chiat/Day, San Francisco.
"Stephen is going to make us a better agency," said Austin McGhie, president and chief executive officer of Y&R, San Francisco. "He is a strong-minded individual who will help energize our creative product."
While at BBDO Canada, the country's largest full-service agency, Creet worked for clients such as Chrysler, Frito-Lay and Molson. His most notable work includes the acclaimed "Red Dog" campaign for Miller Brewing.
At Y&R, Creet will oversee the San Francisco office's existing clients, such as Chevron, and will also have a hand in the Lincoln-Mercury account, which is moving to the office this summer from Detroit. Mike Belitsos is executive creative director on that business.
"Stephen is exactly who we wanted to hire," McGhie said. "But people said we couldn't get him. We're very lucky."
