Two months after losing its Wyndham Resorts business, Yesawich, Pepperdine & Brown of Orlando, Fla., has won the estimated $5 million-plus U.S. and Canadian field advertising of hometown client Renaissance Hotels and Resorts.
The assignment, previously at McCann-Erickson in New York, does not affect that agency's work on other international branding efforts for Renaissance, according to Yesawich senior vice president and public relations director Duffy Myers.
Renaissance, an upscale chain purchased by Marriott International in 1997, has 34 properties in the U.S. and Canada, and a total of 82 worldwide.
Myers said the account win came without a formal review.
In June, Yesawich lost a shootout to Harris Drury Cohen of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., for the Dallas-based Wyndham Resorts business, which is expected to double to $10 million-plus in the next year.
The Renaissance win continues a hot streak for the travel and leisure specialty agency, which recently inked business for Sandy Lane Resort in Barbados, West Indies, and won a three-year extension of its St. Petersburg/Clearwater (Fla.) Area Convention and Visitors Bureau account.
The shop this month also added the $7 million advertising and direct marketing account of Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Zion, Ill., and Tulsa, Okla.
Other travel and leisure clients at Yesawich, which also has offices in New York, Phoenix, Honolulu and St. Petersburg, include Miami-based Carnival Hotels & Casinos, Hilton International Co. of New York and Universal Studios Theme Park in Orlando.
