BOSTON WPP Group today said its third-quarter revenue improved nearly 4 percent to $1.97 billion compared to the same period a year ago. On a constant currency basis, the increase was 12 percent, and about 6 percent on a like-for-like basis.

In constant currency terms, North American revenue for the quarter improved about 11 percent, owing mainly to ad spending on the U.S. elections and Olympic Games, WPP said. In the U.K., Q3 revenue improved about 12 percent, while the Asia-Pacific, Latin America, Africa and Middle East sectors surged more than 22 percent.
