BOSTON WPP Group at its 33rd annual general meeting in London today said global revenue rose 20 percent (6 percent on a like-for-like basis, excluding acquisitions—notably Grey Global Group—and currency fluctuations) during the first five months of 2005.

In constant currency terms, the improvement was 21 percent.

The company said its operating margin through May remains ahead of budget. WPP had forecast a margin of 14.3 percent for 2005, including Grey.

The year so far “has seen further significant growth in revenue, profit and margins, following the strong performance in 2004,” said WPP CEO Martin Sorrell, in a statement.
