In another move to beef up its new media competencies, WPP Group has bought e-services consultancy Imaginet. The ten-year-old, Minneapolis-based company, which serves clients like DirectAg.com, Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and Medtronic and Express Scripts, will operate as a division of J. Walter Thompson. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The acquisition marks another addition to the ad agency’s interactive offerings, which includes digital@jwt, their 2-year-old in-house shop, and Tonic 360. J. Walter Thompson snatched up San Francisco-based Tonic 360 in October after the duo won advertising and digital duties for the $100 million Sun Microsystems account.
