At an estimated $800 million in billings, Verizon is Zenith’s largest client—and one of its oldest. The tele communications giant has worked with the agency since Zenith’s launch in the U.S. in 1995, when Verizon predecessor Bell Atlantic was a client. The company subsequently held two media reviews—one in 1998 following the Bell Atlantic/Nynex merger and another in 2000 when Verizon consolidated its media—and Zenith prevailed in both. Verizon vp of marketing Bill McCarron, former Nynex managing director of media services, was a key member of the client review teams.
