Warner Bros. Pictures is using wireless media to promote a movie for the first time. It has chosen WindWire to spread the word for the upcoming action film “Swordfish,” a cyberthriller starring John Travolta.

When users of Internet-enabled phones, personal digital assistants or other wireless devices view selected Web sites, the advertisements appear as embedded content. For example, the ads will appear to users of 10Best.com, a company that provides location-based information for 245 cities.
