LOS ANGELES Michael Folino, the lead creative director on Nike at independent Wieden + Kennedy, said he parted with the agency on Friday, the same day sources said the client informed Wieden it would look beyond the shop for ideas on its running shoe business.

Folino declined to discuss details of his departure.

A representative at Wieden’s Portland, Ore., headquarters would not discuss possible replacements for Folino.
