Whistler Taps Pagano to Create Campaign for Holiday Shoppers

BOSTON-After an informal review of undisclosed shops, Pagano Schenck & Kay last week was named agency of record for Whistler Corp. in Chelmsford, Mass.
"We were looking for a firm that was local, that offered strong creative and that had demonstrated success in building brands," said Karen McVeigh, director of corporate marketing at Whistler. "
"We've done some initial creative already," said agency president Rick Sandler. New advertising is scheduled to break in late fall in newspapers and magazines in time for holiday gift shopping. Billings were estimated in the low seven figures, according to Sandler.
Whistler designs and manufactures consumer electronics products for cars, available in automotive shops, hardware stores, and mass merchandisers such as Kmart and Wal-Mart.
In the past, Whistler had worked mostly with smaller shops on a project basis.
In an effort to beef up its image, the client also hired Boston-based Fitch Design to develop a new logo and packaging, according to Sandler.
After a dry spell, Pagano has won two recent reviews. Dana-Farber/Partners CancerCare awarded its estimated $1-2 million ad account to the Boston shop [Adweek, Aug. 4].
