How do mothers survive the rigors of raising kids in these demanding times? Perhaps by feeling superior to their own mothers. Consistent with other surveys we’ve seen over the years, a new one by ABC News’ Good Morning America and Good Housekeeping makes it clear that today’s mothers believe they’re better at the job of parenting than their own mothers were.

Conducted among mothers with kids under age 18 living at home, the poll found 69 percent of them saying they have an “excellent” relationship with their kids.
