BOSTON Captains of Industry has been selected for marketing chores by Whatman, a manufacturer of separations technology used by scientists in genetic research and related studies.
The independent agency is tasked with crafting print, direct mail, collateral and trade show executions for the Clifton, N.J., client. Media relations and new product development are also in the mix.
The win is important for the shop because it represents "a validation of our agency's continued focus on biotech and healthcare," said Fred Surr, one of the agency's two principals, along with Ted Page.
Captains is probably best known for its promotional efforts on behalf of Childreach/Plan, a nonprofit group that helps children worldwide. The shop's ads for Childreach tie into last year's Jack Nicholson movie, About Schmidt.
