Unlike some other modern conflicts, the gender wars aren’t adorned by a “peace process.” But it’s not for lack of common ground in the ways the combatants perceive themselves and each other. A recent Gallup survey gave respondents a list of personality traits and asked them to say whether each is “generally more true” of men or women. While there were gender gaps in the responses, these came against a backdrop of basic consensus. For instance, 73 percent of men and 62 percent of women agreed that “aggressive” applies more to men.
