SAN FRANCISCO Doremus has hired West Coast agency veteran Michael Prieve as executive creative director in its flagship New York office.
Prieve, 42, was most recently a creative director at Omnicom Group's Goodby, Silverstein & Partners in San Francisco, a job he took last spring. Doremus is also a unit of Omnicom.
During his 20-year career he has worked at Wieden + Kennedy as creative director in its Portland, Ore., Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and New York offices. Prieve was also ecd at Interpublic Group's Foote Cone & Belding in San Francisco and WPP Group's Young & Rubicam Brands in Irvine, Calif.
He is taking over the creative leadership position at Doremus from Evelyn Neill, who joined the shop's New York office three years ago and led integrated campaigns for United Technologies, ITT, TRW Automotive, Rabobank, Sandler O'Neill + Partners and Knight Trading, among others. Neill is returning to her other passion, teaching, the agency said.
With his experience working on consumer brands such as Nike, Coke and Microsoft, Prieve is diverting from that path by going to a business communications shop.
"The business is changing, the opportunities are changing and I'm changing," Prieve said in a statement. "What Evelyn has started is just amazing."
Howard Sherman, managing director of Doremus in New York, said in a statement, "I'm thrilled that Michael will be joining Doremus. Since Evelyn's arrival, Doremus has redefined the level of play in business communications from a creative point of view. Michael is the ideal person to continue the work Evelyn has begun."
