NEW YORK Welch Foods, the marketing and manufacturing subsidiary of the National Grape Cooperative, confirmed today that it has awarded its media planning and buying duties to WPP Group’s Maxus after a review.

The client in Concord, Mass., spent more than $25 million last year on ads and close to $20 million through August 2005, per Nielsen Monitor-Plus.

Maxus in New York replaces Havas’ Media Planning Group, also in New York, as Welch’s media agency. MPG had handled the business for 15 years, the client said.
