BOSTON Larry Weber, CEO of Interpublic Group’s Advanced Marketing Services division, is leaving his post, effective immediately, Weber confirmed.

Weber, who said he decided to leave for personal reasons, will continue working with the New York-based holding company in a consulting role. He will also advise Weber Shandwick, the Cambridge, Mass., public relations concern he founded in 1987 as the Weber Group, on new-business strategy.

IPG is currently in the process of breaking up AMS while it searches for a buyer for market research company NFO WorldGroup.
