BOSTON DirectDeutsch has hired Jane Walsh as senior vice president, creative director, a new position at the agency.

Prior to joining the direct unit at Interpublic Group's Deutsch, Walsh served as group creative director at WPP Group's Wunderman for 13 years, where she worked on a variety of brands including Clairol Professional, American Express Corporate Card and the U.S. Army.

"Jane does and inspires great creative work," said Fred Rubin, partner and director of iDeutsch and directDeutsch, in a statement. "She is a terrific strategist and will make a tremendous contribution to our direct capabilities and to the agency at large."

In her new role, Walsh will work on all of New York-based Deutsch's direct clients including Monster, Johnson & Johnson and Novartis.

"I am thrilled to join Deutsch as I have always respected their work and the strong insights that it's built upon," Walsh said. "The word integration is thrown around a lot these days, but here it's actually being done and done well."
