BOSTON Waggener Edstrom, an independent PR agency, has opened a Boston office.
Key to the decision is the Portland, Ore.-based shop's growing bioscience practice, which will target new business from the area's numerous biotechnology companies, according to agency senior vice president Keith Lindenburg. The move follows Waggener Edstrom's opening of a Stamford, Conn. office two years ago.
The Boston office kicks off operations with duties for Lahive & Cockfield, a Boston-based lawfirm. Helming the Boston operation is vice president, general manager Kristin Hilf, who joined the agency from Incepta Group's Cunningham Public Relations in Cambridge, Mass., where she was president.
Other clients of the agency, which has about 450 employees and $60 million in fee income, include Alcatel, Advanced Micro Devices, Microsoft and MasterCard International.
