CHICAGO Volkswagen Asia Pacific has tapped Fallon’s Asian operations to handle its estimated $10 million advertising account, an agency representative confirmed.

The shop, which has its worldwide headquarters in Minneapolis, won the account following a review that included Omincom Group’s DDB Worldwide, Interpublic Group’s Lowe & Partners and WPP Group’s Ogilvy & Mather.

The assignment covers all markets in the Asia Pacific region excluding China and Japan. Advertising will focus on the automaker’s Passat, Bora, Golf and New Beetle in the immediate term, with new models Touareg and Phaeton launching in the next 12 months.
