Valentine Radford Advertising won Best of Show honors for its outdoor campaign for Colorado Women's Rugby at the Advertising Club of Kansas City's Omni awards show last week.
It was also a big night for NKH&W, which took home the most awards: 45 of 290 total Omnis presented, including 10 first-place trophies. Barkley Evergreen & Partners took home 28 Omnis, five of them for first place. In addition to the top honor, Valentine Radford garnered 24 awards.
NKH&W won Best of Newspaper honors for its "Guns" ad for the Pony Express Museum. One of its clients, Williams Food, won the inaugural Innovator of the Year award, presented to the company whom judges felt allowed the best creative work.
The Design Ranch took home a total of 12 awards, eight of them for first place, as well as a Judges' Special Recognition Award for a direct mail piece produced for GraphicArchive.
Judges for the contest were Wayne Thompson of Gabriel Diericks Razidlo in Minneapolis; Philip Wilson of Leo Burnett in Chicago; David Schiedt of Thomas & Perkins in Denver; and Ed Lisieski of Cole & Weber in Seattle.
Deb Turpin, president and chief executive officer of River City Studio, was named Ad Professional of the Year.
The Ad Club of Kansas City received more than 1,500 entries for this year's contest and awarded Omnis to 37 area agencies, according to officials.
