Clearly, Reilly knows his insects. Of course, when the narrator asks him a question about the telephone phone technology used by his company, the bug man is stumped. 'Well, you can't be an expert at everything,' says the narrator, who then goes on to explain US West's small-business expertise.
Producer Jack Epsteen says the quirky, humorous spot took two days to shoot (it seems not all of the bugs would cooperate). But copywriter David Smith and art director Richard Bess are quick to point out that no insects were harmed during filming of the commercial.
