CHICAGO The U.S. Army has pared the list of contenders for its $200 million advertising account from six to four, cutting WPP Group agencies Young & Rubicam and Grey, according to sources.

Remaining in the hunt are: Publicis Groupe-owned incumbent Leo Burnett in Chicago; Omnicom Group’s BBDO, which is pitching out of its Atlanta office; and Interpublic Group’s McCann Erickson and WPP’s Ogilvy & Mather, both in New York, according to sources.

Agency officials either declined comment or referred calls to the client.
