The U.S. Army narrowed the list of contenders for its $115 million advertising contract last week to three shops, sources said.
Campbell-Ewald, Warren, Mich.; Leo Burnett, Chicago; and The Martin Agency, Richmond, Va. have advanced in the review. After issuing questionnaires and conducting “capability briefings,” the Army cut Arnold Communications, Boston; DDB, Chicago; and McCann-Erickson and Ogilvy & Mather, both New York.
The Army has been prequalifying shops with the intention of limiting the competition to firms identified as best qualified by its consultant, Jones-Lundin Associates, Chicago, prior to issuing requests for proposals.
