CHICAGO United Airlines jabs rival American Airlines over its decision to add more seats to its planes, thus cutting legroom, in a campaign from Publicis Groupe’s Fallon that breaks next week.

Print ads that debut on Monday in Chicago, which both airlines use as a hub, feature the line-drawn characters that have already graced United’s branding efforts.

These new ads show passengers in contorted positions because of close seating. One has an unhappy man folded into a square over the headline, “Fly American, and you could kick yourself.
