CHICAGO The Chicago White Sox have awarded their $2 million advertising account to independent Two by Four after a review, the agency confirmed.

The shop beat independent incumbent Hoffman York and Omnicom Group’s BBDO, both Chicago. The American League club’s vice president of marketing, Brooks Boyer, led the search.

The South Side baseball team’s most recent advertising contrasted the differences between the Sox and their crosstown rivals, the Chicago Cubs. One execution called the Cubs “lovable” when they lose, but said the Sox “hate losing.”
