NEW YORK Upscale luggage maker Tumi has awarded creative duties to Avrett Free Ginsberg, a unit of Interpublic Group here.

New ads will launch in the fall. While past efforts have focused on performance, AFG will take a high-end, fashion approach, positioning Tumi against other luxe brands.

Saatchi & Saatchi previously held the account.

AFG’s other luxury clients include St. Regis Hotels and Van Cleef & Arpels.

Tumi spent $1 million on ads in 2003, per Nielsen Monitor-Plus.
