Trumpet Wins Real Mex Business

LOS ANGELES The Real Mex Restaurants chain has awarded creative and media duties to Trumpet, the company confirmed.

The Long Beach, Calif.-based chain of 128 restaurants operates under the names El Torito, Acapulco and Las Brisas; regional restaurants include Who-Song & Larry's, Casa Gallardo, El Paso Cantina, Keystone Grill, Hola Amigos and GuadalaHarry's.

Neither the account's value nor the contenders in the review was disclosed. Real Mex spent less than $1 million on advertising for its restaurants in 2003, according to Nielsen Monitor-Plus.

Independent Trumpet has offices in New Orleans and New York. The company also said it assigned its public relations business to Allison & Partners in Santa Monica, Calif.
