CHICAGO – McConnaughy Stein Schmidt Brown here was awarded Cotter & Co.’s $15-20-million True Value Hardware business last week after a quiet shoot-out with CME-KHBB/Chicago, and Meyer & Wallis, Milwaukee. The agency got its foot in the door after winning the company’s Tru-Test paint business late last year. The leading hardware chain is looking to boost its image as it faces increased competition from discounters. The business had been handled in-house.
