Trion Communications has prevailed in a review of local agencies to win the account of SwimEx, a maker and marketer of aquatic rehabilitation equipment.

The Providence, R.I., shop is the client's first lead agency. SwimEx had previously handled marketing on a project basis with agencies that have included Chaffee & Partners and I.D. Group. The latter created the firm's current tagline, "It's your home. It's your health. Never compromise."

Trion's print campaign will promote the Warren, R.I., company's pools and a new underwater treadmill. Ads will target both residential customers and entities such as professional sports teams, college athletic departments, rehabilitation facilities and healthcare centers.

SwimEx president Steve DaSilva cited the desire for a full-service shop and Trion's experience with both consumer and business-to-business clients as key factors in the decision. "They understand integration and can put together a package with a consistent message," DaSilva said.

Previously, the client placed ads in high-end publications such as Architectural Digest, The Robb Report and Smithsonian, as well as trade magazines. Those periodicals will likely be in the upcoming media buy,Trion partner Josh Fenton said.

"The pools are for consumers looking for a premier product for their home," Fenton said.

Trion is also handling public relations and interactive advertising and is working with the client on media planning, Fenton said.

Overseeing the business are agency account supervisor Jennifer Toone, art director Erica Brown and copywriter Kevin Acciaioli.
