NEW YORK Toys R Us has thrown its ad account into review after nearly three years with WPP Group’s Young & Rubicam here.

The agency added the account in May 2004, after a review involving Interpublic Group’s Foote Cone & Belding in New York and Omnicom Group’s DDB and Publicis Groupe’s Leo Burnett, both in Chicago. Burnett was the incumbent.

Y&R said it has declined an invitation to defend. Client executives could not immediately be reached.

Toys R Us spent nearly $70 million in measured media in the first 11 months of 2006 after spending almost $100 million in 2005, per Nielsen Monitor-Plus.
