LOS ANGELES Nissan North America has launched a TV spot as part of its 2003 campaign aimed at depicting the Frontier as a no-nonsense, rugged truck.

The 30-second commercial, from TBWA\Chiat\Day in Playa del Rey, Calif., opens with a silver Frontier SE Supercharged 4×4 against a dark background. As the vehicle drives through mud and water, audio includes actual quotes from movies. The first, “Startin’ with me, everything in this place is mean and miserable,” is from Howard DeSilva in the film Nevada Smith.
