BOSTON Townsend Inc. said it has added Toshiba America Electronic Components to its roster for integrated branding chores.
"We plan to develop a brand platform that will further strengthen TAEC's industry presence in the U.S. market and create campaigns that will increase awareness for Toshiba's leading-edge technologies," said Jackie Townsend, the CEO and founder of the independent agency in San Diego.
Toshiba spends more than $50 million overall on annual domestic advertising, and about $5 million to support its TAEC offerings, per TNS Media Intelligence.
TAEC products include flash memory-based storage solutions, as well as medical devices, microcontrollers, imaging products and wireless components for the computing, wireless, networking, automotive and digital consumer markets.
"This new partnership will strengthen TAEC and further solidify our industry presence," said Deborah Chalmers, a client representative. "We have selected Townsend for their thorough knowledge and understanding of Toshiba's markets and products."
Townsend has worked for a range of clients including Sony, TDG Aerospace, Viking Systems and VoiceCue. The agency said it added TAEC's business following a review in which the other contenders were undisclosed.
