TORCH (Together Our Resources Can Help) presented its Fifth Anniversary Benefit & L.I.G.H.T. Awards on Nov. 9. About 300 people attended the event, held at One Little West 12 on New York's West Side. TORCH is dedicated to providing exposure and career training and opportunities in communications and the arts to underserved New York City public high school students, while facilitating an increased presence of minorities within these industries. The L.I.G.H.T. Awards honored individuals and organizations that have made a difference in the lives of TORCH participants. Sponsors included Adweek, American Airlines, Cendant Car Rental Group, Double Tree Hotels, the 4A's Multicultural Advertising Intern Program, Motorola, OnBoard LLC, Phat Farm and Wunderman.
