NEW YORK --Following the completion of the Interpublic Group of Cos.' acquisition of True North Communications, three top executives of the former TN Media have found new posts elsewhere within the Interpublic Group of Cos. family.

Former FCB media executive Scot Butler, who was named TN president in 2000, is returning to FCB to head media operations in the IPG agency's Chicago office, according to sources. Meanwhile, Magna Global USA, the U.S. arm of IPG's newly created global negotiation company, announced that it was bringing on board Steve Sternberg, TN svp, director of broadcast research, as director of audience analysis, and Larry Blasius, TN's svp, director of national broadcast, as director of U.S. national broadcast.

Magna Global USA was created last month to leverage the collective media buying power of IPG's media services companies on behalf of advertisers. Though its official launch date is September 1, sources said Initiative Media and IPG's second media network, Universal McCann, used Magna to negotiate rates for the cable upfront. Magna executives are now looking to the fall TV sports marketplace and the scatter market as its authorized introduction.
