Two women have ascended the top management rungs at RTCdirect.
The Washington, D.C.-based relationship marketing firm elevated Becky Chidester to chairman and chief executive officer. Catherine Bartholow, who arrived earlier this year, has become president.
"The partnership between Catherine and Becky will make RTC even stronger," said John Zweig, chief executive officer ofthe company's WPP parent, Specialist Communications Businesses. "Under Becky's leadership, RTC has become a nationally recognized relationship marketing firm. Catherine positions RTC for another level of growth."
Chidester, a public affairs and database marketing specialist, arrived at RTC in 1991. She has overseen communications initiatives for Schering Plough's Claritin and Mead Johnson Nutritionals' Enfamil formula, campaigns recognized as among the best relationship marketing programs of the 1990s.
As head of CB Consulting in Elmhurst, Ill., Bartholow designed consumer-centric programs for Fortune 500 companies. She also serves on the faculty of Northwestern University's Integrated Marketing Communications Masters Program.
"In marketing the real asset base is the consumer," said Bartholow. "We put him in the center and try to build relationships around him."
