TML Turns To Cleveland For Direction

Tausche Martin Lonsdorf president Andy Fletcher wasted no time last week after losing executive vice president and director of creative services Kurt Tausche in handing the creative reins of TML to senior vice president and creative director Bart Cleveland.
Cleveland's ascension came on the heels of Tausche's decision to become president and chief creative officer of another Atlanta shop, Cole Henderson Drake.
"I always felt we had two of the best creative directors, so with Bart here we're not going to miss a beat," Fletcher said last week. "[Tausche's departure] comes at a time when we couldn't be stronger. We have such depth here, I think that's why Kurt felt comfortable about leaving at this time."
The changes come during what is one of the best years the agency has enjoyed since its formation in 1991. Recently named Southeast agency for Daewoo Motor America, it is also in reviews for the national Daewoo business as well as a regional piece of Starbucks Coffee. According to Fletcher, the agency should go from $36 million at the end of last year to $50 million by the end of 1997.
Cleveland was surprised by Tausche's exit, but seems comfortable with his increased responsibilities.
"I've been a creative director before, but not on as large a scale," Cleveland said. "But I love challenges."
