FORT WORTH – American Airlines launched its first national image campaign in four and a half years. The estimated $30-40-million campaign from Temerlin McClain, Irving, Texas, runs through 1994. The money for this effort has been reallocated from existing local image campaigns running in markets like Chicago and Dallas/Fort Worth. Two spots, ‘Important’ and ‘Straight Answers,’ debut this week, and two more begin running later this year. TM president Dennis McClain said the new campaign sets out to influence business travelers in their choices, to push them to think twice about traveling on another airline.
