Thrifty Car Rental has selected Bernstein-Rein Advertising in Kansas City to head up its $10 million account after a three-month review process.
The Tulsa, Okla.-based client chose Bernstein over The Richards Group here and Cliff Freeman and Partners in New York. Incumbent Ackerman McQueen, headquartered in Oklahoma City, resigned the account in June over creative differences with Thrifty.
Thrifty vice president of corporate communications Meloyde Blancett-Scott confirmed the choice last week. She deferred questions about the selection to Thrifty president Donald Himelfarb, who was unavailable for comment at press time.
Himelfarb stepped up his role in the review following last month’s resignation of marketing vice president Tom DeNardin.
