Foote, Cone & Belding has made a swathe of executive shifts in its senior management triggered by the move of worldwide creative director Geoff Thompson from its London office to San Francisco.
Thompson, as expected, will fill a hole created by executive creative director Paul Wolfe, who left in February. Thompson also becomes chairman, chief executive and chief creative officer there, with president Jack Boland now reporting to him.
That Thompson was promoted over Boland was a surprise to some, as the latter was said to have been assured he would lead the office, sources said.
