NEW YORK-Supermarket chain Safeway Inc. and Tesco Plc, the number one grocer in Great Britain, announced a co-marketing alliance on Monday in which Tesco will invest $22 million for a 35% stake in online shopping venture GroceryWorks.com. Pleasanton, Calif.-based Safeway, the number three supermarket in the U.S., has a 50% interest in GroceryWorks.com, with the remainder owned by other shareholders.
