BOSTON IT publisher TechTarget said it has filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission as it prepares to make an initial public offering.

The Needham, Mass.-based firm is planning to offer up to $75 million in common stock and seeks a listing on the Nasdaq exchange under the symbol TTGT.

Morgan Stanley, Lehman Brothers, Cowen & Co. and Piper Jaffray are underwriting the IPO.

The company, formed in 1999, provides specialized online content for buyers and sellers of corporate IT products, as well as customized marketing programs for IT vendors.
