TBWA\Chiat\Day Gets Pennzoil Creative

DALLAS Pennzoil Motor Oil has awarded creative duties for its $30 million account to Omnicom's TBWA\Chiat\Day, sources said.

The Playa del Rey, Calif., shop pitched with Tequila, the interactive, direct and promotional network of Omnicom's TBWA Worldwide. The other finalists were Interpublic Group's Deutsch/LA, Marina del Rey, Calif., and The Martin Agency, Richmond, Va.

The client could not immediately be reached for comment. Agency officials either declined comment or could not be reached.

Omnicom's GSD&M handles Pennzoil's media planning and buying account, which was not part of the review. The Austin, Texas-based agency made creative presentations early in the review but did not advance to the finals.

Roth Associates in New York handled the search for the Houston-based client, which is a brand of Shell Lubricants.
